SmartWriteTools is a free, browser-based writing toolkit for students, bloggers, and professionals. It exists to answer one practical question: is this piece of writing as clear, concise, and effective as it can be?
Instead of giving you a single heavyweight editor, we provide a set of focused micro-tools — word count, clarity scoring, passive voice detection, keyword density, tone analysis, and more — each one doing one thing well. They are deliberately simple, fast, and free, because the writing you actually do in a day rarely needs a full suite of enterprise features.

The core toolkit runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript — word counts, clarity scoring, keyword density, passive voice detection and tone analysis never leave your device. There is no account and no sign-up. A small number of optional AI tools (Clarity Rewrite, Tone Rewrite, AI Fix Grammar, Paraphraser and Summarizer) are clearly marked; when you click one, the text you entered is sent to a third-party AI service solely to generate your result, and it is not stored or used for training. Content is produced by our editorial team, who also use the tools to test the advice we publish — every claim about what a tool does is checked against the tool itself.
