What changed
The five AI-powered tools — Clarity Rewrite, Tone Rewrite, AI Fix Grammar, the Paraphraser and the Summarizer — run on Cloudflare Workers AI. Each one works hard to produce clean, natural text without ever storing what you type. As part of a regular maintenance you now see better results:
- A stronger, faster model. The primary model is now a large 70-billion-parameter instruct model, which produces clearer rewrites and more natural summaries than the earlier generation.
- Automatic failover. If the fast model is briefly busy or overloaded, the request is passed to a reliable fallback automatically. You get a result either way, instead of a "could not reach" stuck button.
- No change to privacy. Your text is still used only to generate your result. It is not stored by us and is not used to train models.
Why we added a security check
The AI features are completely free, with a per-visitor daily quota. That model only works if real people — not automated scripts and bots — are the ones using them. To protect the free tier we added a bot-protection check from Cloudflare Turnstile.
For most visitors this is invisible: Turnstile confirms you are human silently in the background. Only when something looks risky does a small, quick check appear — and it happens entirely in your browser. Your text, and everything described in our Privacy Policy, is completely unchanged.
What this means if you use the tools today
Nothing about the way the tools work has changed. You paste your text, choose a feature, and click. The only difference is that your results will come back from a smarter model — and in the rare cases where one model is overwhelmed, the site has a built-in backup ready to keep your rewrite on time.
Try the upgraded AI for yourself. The Paraphraser, Summarizer, Tone Rewrite and Clarity Rewrite all sit inside the free SmartWriteTools toolkit.
